About the role
Are you a Maintenance Manager looking to join an internationally renowned business, where you will lead and develop your own team of skilled engineers in a Monday to Friday (8am - 5pm) based role?


As well as the opportunity to join a global industry leader based at our Peterborough facility, you will be given career progression opportunities alongside continued development within a specialist market.


Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this is varied role where you'll be both office based and out on the shop floor (60% Office / 40% Plant) in our fully equipped processing plant.

You will be responsible for managing a team of maintenance engineers, ensuringequipment and facilities maintenance is completed to a high standard and that machine availability is maximized whilst always meeting H&S and compliance standards.


What will I be doing?

As Maintenance manager you will be accountable for:

  • Demonstrating leadership in health & safety. Ensures all engineering and maintenance activities on site meet the appropriate health and safety standards.
  • Motivating the team through effective leadership, coaching, people management and development plans
  • Implementing Preventative Maintenance plan on a weekly, monthly, annual basis for overhaul and continuous operations using Kerry systems and delegating tasks to team and / or contractors
  • Scheduling contractors for major repairs as required
  • Managing the maintenance budget, negotiating vendor contracts
  • Monitor maintenance performance against defined KPI's and looking for improvement opportunities
  • Works closely with other functional teams, understands customer needs, building a track record for professionalism and credibility in responding to issues.

What do I need to bring?

  • HNC (or higher) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or time served apprenticeship
  • Previous supervisory or management experience within Engineering / Maintenance.
  • PPM scheduling, SAP and processes improvement experience
  • Experience of working within food or FMCG manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Technical understanding of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems for planning and troubleshooting
  • Good verbal communication skills, including active listening and the ability to translate complex technical information for nontechnical people
  • Organisational skills for scheduling / delegating maintenance tasks and ensuring job completion
  • A proactive 'can do' attitude and attention to detail
