PET-Xi is hiring Join Our Mission to Empower Learners Maths Tutor Wanted in Middlesbrough
We have a fantastic brand-new opportunity for an experienced
Maths Tutor to tutor functional skills
Maths to GCSE students.

You will be primarily responsible for the delivery of pre-designed
key stage 3-4 Maths material:

  • No Marking
  • No lesson planning
  • Preprepared lesson materials

The skills & experience you'll bring:

  • Previous experience with engaging and motivating learners
  • Ability to engage with and inspire learners by using appropriate training techniques and interpersonal skills
  • Create an appropriate learning environment and maintain a disciplinary framework by demonstrating a strong 'presence' in the classroom
  • Be capable of modifying delivery method dependant on the learners in the group
  • Be able to work to deadlines
  • Have good ICT skills using Microsoft Office software
  • The ability to adapt to different learning styles at pace
In order to deliver/assess this qualification to PET-Xi standards, staff must hold (or be working towards):

  • Qualified Tutor Status (QTS)
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
  • City & Guilds Certificate in Further Education Teaching (7407)
  • City & Guilds Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS
  • City & Guilds Further and Adult Education Tutor's Certificate (7307)
  • City & Guilds Initial Certificate in Teaching Basic Skills
  • An
    Enhanced current DBS is a must, preferably on the update service. (Essential)

Personal Skills:


  • Excellent communication skills
  • Presentation, written and verbal
  • Time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage own diary
