As the New Hospital ProgrammeResourcing and Acquisition Leadthepostholderwillworkaspartofadynamicteamindeliveringaneffectiveservicesupportingleaders and colleaguesacross the New Hospital Programme, in collaboration with the corporate NHSE HR & OD team.


Interviews for this role are planned to be on July 21st and 24th


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team to take responsibility for leading the design, development, and implementation of the resourcing and acquisition service.

You will ensure effective leadership and team development to support the delivery of the programme, drive culture change, and uphold a high level of professionalism within the service.

Your role will also involve providing an efficient service to establish an agile and flexible workforce.

As part of your responsibilities, you will be instrumental in establishing and managing a resourcing and acquisition centre of expertise through a dedicated hub.


Furthermore, you will contribute to the review, development, and implementation of organisational vacancy controls and establishment control policies and procedures with colleagues in NHS England.

Finally, you will provide strategic oversight of third-party contracts, ensuring optimum value for money.


We are in the process of establishing long-term capability to deliver the New Hospital Programme - the 3rd largest programme on the Government's Major Projects Portfolio enabling the delivery of NHS's Health Infrastructure Plan.


The Programme is committed to changing the way hospitals are built and achieving significant savings through repeatable design, modern methods of construction, new approaches to clinical planning and the implementation of innovation in sustainability, digital technology, and new care methods.


  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of the New Hospital Programmes Flexible Resourcing service.
  • Ensure effective leadership and team development to support the delivery of the programme, drive culture change, and maintain a high level of professionalism within the service.
  • Lead the Resourcing and Acquisition service to provide an efficient and effective service, establishing a supportive framework for an agile and flexible workforce.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders, including senior leaders, department heads, and external partners, to understand resourcing needs, align strategies, and ensure effective implementation of the resourcing and acquisition initiatives.
  • Lead the development and effective management of a resourcing and acquisition centre of expertise through a dedicated hub.
  • Review and continually develop organisational vacancy controls and establishment control policies and procedures with colleagues in NHS England.
  • Provide strategic oversight of thirdparty contracts, ensuring optimum value for money and adherence to contractual obligations.
