Accounts Assistant - Purchasing (Part-Time)
Sheffield, South Yorkshire

We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our team in Sheffield on a permanent, part-time basis, working 24 hours per week.

The Role

As an Accounts Assistant, you will support our Finance Team to provide a complete accounting and finance service to the whole company.

Assisting the Finance Manager, you will provide day to day financial and management accounting support, ensuring the accurate, timely and efficient delivery of our products.

You will manage the purchase ledger process, whilst ensuring all invoices and credit notes are received, checked, authorised and entered into the EFACs System.


Additionally, you will:

  • Manage supplier accounts
  • Respond to a range of finance related queries
  • Assist with month end and end of year preparation and procedures
  • Oversee utility accounts, petty cash transactions and journal preparation

About You
To be considered as an Accounts Assistant, you will need:

  • Experience working in an office environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of finance processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of purchase ledgers
  • Accurate and proficient numerical skills
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, both face to face and over the phone
  • Proficiency in IT
  • At a minimum, GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English at level 94 (grade A*C)
