We are thrilled to offer an outstanding opportunity for a Production Team Leader to join our client's dynamic team at their Factory site in Swansea.
In this role, you will have full responsibility and accountability for all aspects of the production process.The Role
You will lead a team of Lead Operatives, Production Operatives, and other resources to ensure seamless operations and adherence to high standards of performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Production Shift Manager to manage resources effectively, meeting the daily demands of a dynamic manufacturing operation.
- Uphold strict adherence to health and safety protocols, fostering a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
- Ensure materials and products are handled according to prescribed quality standards, maintaining product integrity throughout the production process.
- Equip production workstations adequately for scheduled tasks, completing all necessary documentation to support operations.
- Assign Production Operatives tasks aligned with production requirements, ensuring they are fully trained and capable.
- Communicate production targets to all operatives and monitor performance closely, addressing any deviations promptly.
- Utilise available resources to resolve production issues efficiently, escalating unresolved matters to the Production Shift Manager.
- Facilitate effective line clearance and workstation setup, optimising workflow efficiency.
- Maintain impeccable housekeeping standards in the production area, promoting a clean and organised work environment.
- Verify completion of all required records and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, equipment, and overall efficiency.
- Ensure strict compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, promoting a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with the training officer to identify and address training needs, ensuring all staff receive timely and relevant training.
- Liaise with HR to manage HRrelated matters within the production area, including absence management, holiday approvals, and performance issues.
- Oversee and manage the activities of employees within your area, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Ensure all resources and equipment are aligned with the weekly production plan.
- Act as the senior point of contact onsite outside of regular dayshift hours in the absence of the Production Shift Manager.
- General secondary or vocational qualifications, including proficiency in English and Maths.
- Competency in using computer systems and programs.
- Extensive experience in coordinating and leading teams within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in managing employee relations.
- Experience in electronic assembly operations, knowledge of Continuous Improvement Techniques, proficiency in Microsoft packages, and experience with MRP systems is desirable.
