Overview / Responsibilities:


Wood, a global leader in consulting, engineering, and project management, is seeking a Cost Controller to support a client site based in London, SW1.


The Role:


The Cost Controller is responsible to support Operations Contract & Cost Control Coordinator to manage all the contract post award activities in compliance with main Company procedure and assist Technical people to effectively manage call offs and pro-forma invoices.


Cooperate with Procurement and Finance in order to ensure that cost allocation and contract management are carried out in proper way.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:


  • Support the preparation, submission, full approval and issuing of SAP Call offs to Contractors for all Technical Dept Contracts (approx. 60 contracts) in compliance with Company procedures and guidelines
  • Filing of relevant documentations/call off and updating of department log
  • Verify if Subcontractors included in SAP Call Off are authorised as per procedure
  • Support the preparation and submission of SAP Service Entries for all Technical Dept Contracts (approx. 60 contracts)
  • Ensuring that proper WBE allocation is applied
  • Support Technical Management and Technical people to verify that required budget and contract funds
  • Support Technical Management and Technical people for any required reporting
  • Cooperate with Procurement team and closely with Contract Administration Team
  • Cooperate with Finance Department as required
  • Development and analysis of reports to identify opportunities for cost optimisation and tracking of budgeted costs against activities
  • Communication with Operations Contract & Cost Control Coordinator to maintain correct allocation of costs


  • Control of WBEs

  • Communication to departments to enforce correct allocation;
  • Request of creation of new WBEs as required; monitoring WBE usage
  • Support any Department requirement in terms of approval (by Echosign or different system)
  • To participate in Emergency Response duties, as required
  • To ensure full adherence to the Company's Health, Safety & Environment policies, procedures and standards

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Degree or HNC / HND preferred, ideally in an engineering discipline or where strong cost and commercial skills are included, and recent cost engineering experience
  • Applies analytical and statistical evaluation whilst maintaining integrity of systems/data and following best practices and procedures
  • Demonstrates effective organization & planning skills
  • Proactive approach, uses initiative and experience to problem solve
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Selfmotivated, energetic and tenacious
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
