Role:
Nexus PMO Lead


Ready for an impactful role in steering one of British Airways' most significant digital change programs? We're on the lookout for a skilled professional to join our team, contributing to the success of this transformative initiative.


Operating within BA's digital transformation programme known as 'Nexus' and reporting to the PMO & Delivery Manager, the PMO Lead role sits within the Programme Management team.

Nexus is operating using an agile methodology to build the most convenient, effective, and personalised customer experience in aviation. Nexus will bring a step-change in experience across the customer journey.

Whether customers are booking their trip, managing their order, or we are supporting them while they travel; Nexus brings future proof technology putting digital first.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate closely with the PMO and Delivery Manager to efficiently plan, execute, and deliver PMO activities, processes, and documentation.
  • Own and manage assigned tasks, ensuring timely completion and effective delegation.
  • Lead the management of risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing robust processes.
  • Compile detailed status reports, covering Agile delivery progress, roadmap adherence, and associated KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain management dashboards and executive summaries for clear reporting.
  • Support tracking and management of dependencies, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Communicate program health status to stakeholders as required.
  • Monitor overall progress, update plans, and ensure effective engagement throughout the digital change program.
  • Escalate issues to the PMO and Delivery Manager when needed and initiate corrective actions.
  • Fulfill secretariat functions for key program governance sessions, managing calendars, creating slide packs, and taking minutes.
  • Quality assure specific program elements, collaborating with other BA/IAG teams to share best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement of PMO procedures and processes, building on industry best practices.
  • Collect and maintain program information/key documents.
  • Manage and update the program's Confluence site and SharePoint site.

Skills / Capabilities:


  • Strong IT skills, including Office 365 Apps (Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Excellent multitasking and timemanagement skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to influence at a team level and manage expectations successfully.
  • Capability to work under pressure, managing issues and seeking guidance when necessary.

Qualifications / Experience:


  • Demonstrable experience in successfully delivering PMO activities.
  • Experience in coordinating work across different departments and teams.
  • Experience with IT and/or Agile programs.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban), tools (e.g., Jira), and frameworks (e.g., SAFe).
  • Professional Project Management accreditation (e.g., Prince2/APMP) desirable.
  • Portfolio Management Office qualification (P3O or equivalent) desirable.
  • Knowledge of BA's business, operation, and commercial organisation desirable.
