We are seeking a Health and Safety Officer to support the business in meeting compliance with all statutory and legislative Health and Safety requirements.


Responsibilities:


  • To develop and maintain Health and Safety policies and procedures across the business, in line with current legislation.
  • Accident monitoring, which can include investigations.
  • Audit and review risk assessments, method statements and Safe Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain current health and safety accreditation's.
  • Carry out site visits and audit onsite working practices.
  • Develop and carry out staff health and safety training.
  • Deal with outside agencies to source additional training requirements.
  • Carry out accident investigations with recommendations and remedies.
  • Identify accident trends and mitigation's.
  • Provide detailed activity reports for monthly board meetings with findings and recommendations.
  • Provide advice regarding industry good practice.
  • Continually improve your knowledge of health and safety practices and new legislation.

Qualifications and experience:


  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Considerable experience working within Health and Safety.
  • Experience of health and safety in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience of RIDDOR regulations and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Working effectively with others.
  • Organised with the ability to prioritise.
  • Good Microsoft skills.
  • Process driven with a genuine passion for health and safety, quality and the environment.
