Cardiff Council delivers over 700 different services to our citizens, visitors, and businesses across the City.

Our Tenant Participation Team is looking to employ a
Corporate Trainee based at Central Library Hub, The Hayes, Cardiff CF10 1FL, with a requirement to work from other hubs in the city as needed.


About the job
In this Corporate
Trainee role you will support our service and will learn to:
learn to work as part of a team to deliver a first class service.

You will develop general office administration skills for example, using word and excel, answering telephones, using IT daily, helping customers with their enquiries and developing excellent customer service skills.

You will assist in setting up and the running of community events and groups.


Full training will be provided by our Team who will help and encourage you to develop in the role and you will be encouraged to take on a variety of duties.

You will receive supervision and on the job training and will have a named mentor to support you to deliver an efficient and effective service in a positive, customer-focused manner.


What We Are Looking For From You

The Corporate Apprentice & Trainee Scheme also provides opportunities to enhance your transferrable skills to help support your career progression.


Many of our teams have moved to online and homeworking and you will be encouraged to develop the skills to support this.

Where homeworking is required, you will be given the necessary equipment however, you will need to arrange your own internet connectivity (some support may be available to help with this).


This role will be located in Central Library Hub, with a requirement to work from other Hubs across the city as needed.

Please note that some weekend may be required.

Our customers depend on us to keep delivering services even in the most challenging of times.

We are looking for individuals who are interested in our work, keen to learn in the role and in helping us making a difference to our customers by delivering exceptional public services in Cardiff.


Additional information
This post is temporary for 6 months if worked full time, or longer if worked part time.

Most roles are based on a 37 hour week although many roles can be worked on a part time basis.
