Marshall Aerospace have a new opportunity for a HR Specialist to join the team. This is a generalist role with a focus on Employee Relations.

You will manage a complex case load and lead on providing guidance and support to managers on a range of HR issues and initiatives.

You will lead on managing Employee Relations in the Aerospace business Unit within an operational environment.

Supporting all day to day case management whilst utilising analytics to observe trends and drive a proactive agenda of interventions/activity that will enhance Employee Engagement/Relations and support business growth, through improved employee productivity and capability.

Supporting on the development of HR policies and procedures, and support the upskilling of managers in their understanding of, and implementation of these.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee all Employee Relations activity in the Business Unit ensuring that all cases are managed and documented effectively.
  • Use a datadriven approach to proactively identify ER trends and work with the business partner and Head of HR to design interventions.
  • Identify and coordinate Business Unit wide employee relations training for line managers upskilling managers to be more selfsufficient.
  • Keep abreast of key employment law developments, disseminating knowledge into the HR community as needed.
  • Look to promote and/ or initiate wellbeing interventions that support workforce health and attendance.
  • Contribute to HR Policy development in partnership with the HR Shared Service and ensure that those policies are understood and complied with in the Business Unit.
  • Contribute to the implementation of Organisational Design changes/ capability initiatives to support the Business Unit growth plans.
  • Act as trusted advisor and coach to our people managers by building strong relationships and providing a commercial people perspective when advising on cases/ building out capability.
  • Lead and provide creative solutions to complex Employee Relations challenges throughout the employee lifecycle including performance, wellbeing, whistleblowing, investigations, disciplinary, grievance, organisational change, TUPE and restructuring activity, keeping abreast of all legislative changes and best practice, implementing solutions in line with company values and policy.
  • Build and maintain constructive working relationships with employee representatives and Unions.
  • Build training needs analysis based on case load/ analytics and enable delivery for Managers to drive selfmanagement of teams.
  • Ensure any changes to policy and legislation linked to policy is communicated to all managers and leaders within the business unit where necessary
  • Support various projects/Initiatives across the Business Unit.
  • Supporting local diversity and inclusion (D&I) activity to help develop and retain a diverse group of talented people
  • Experience across the full HR spectrum/life cycle.
  • Experience within a manufacturing/ industrial/ logistics environment.
  • HR Experience within a fast paced unionised environment.
  • Able to manage a diverse and complex case load and determine priorities/ assess risks
  • Experience as a HR professional with sound employment law knowledge and employee relations knowledge.
  • Good judgement and analytical skills to assess options and craft solutions, whilst identifying and evaluating risks.
  • Able to make links between business strategy and HR interventions
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to progress and prioritise a multifaceted workload and manage systems and processes effectively.
  • Effective coaching and influencing skills and demonstrable ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders
  • Confident with using and interpreting data for reporting purposes and to identify trends to inform priorities.
  • Able to work at pace and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Results/outcome focused
