Description
We are on the search for a Supplier Quality / Development Engineer to work with a company supplying hydraulic mining shovels to Eastern Europe.
The successful applicant will become an advisor for the assigned supply base through the following functional responsibilities:- Execution of a robust quality plan within the supplier network.
- Implements a welldocumented continuous quality improvement process and strict process controls.
- Evaluate and development of new and existing suppliers worldwide to maximize Quality, Cost, Logistics, Delivery, and Management (QCLDM) within the supply network.
- Ensure supplier's are able to meet corporate and business unit requirements for certification levels and customer requirements for quality, cost, and delivery of purchased material.
- Collaborate with suppliers to assure proper process control standards are in place and continuously monitors key manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities. Ensures that suppliers have adequate people, training, tooling, fixturing, and equipment.
- Responsible for monitoring suppliers' adherence to PCN (Process Change Notification) on a timely and costeffective basis, as well as to develop the supply base to fulfil the total requirements from company system implementation.
- Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of technological developments and trends for guidance of commodity teams in advancements of design, quality, and manufacturing.
- Thorough working knowledge of quality initiatives to ensure that Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is completed and approved before new parts are delivered.
- Leadership in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activity.
- Provides resolution and ensure implementation of robust solutions for quality problems associated with the purchased materials, logistics, and engineering issue.
This is a hybrid role, min of 3 days on-site per week. Willingness to travel is essential as 50% of the time would be based on sites and carrying out assessments. Will have to learn company product specifications, so will be a steep learning curve. Needto be able to attend meetings in County Durham or Cambridgeshire, with the main team being in Co Durham. Office time dependent on full travel time, with hybrid working twice a week.
