The Opportunity
Reporting to the Mechanical Planner, the Shift Fitter will be responsible for executing mechanical maintenance and breakdown support to ensure the ongoing reliability of equipment and machinery of our Manufacturing Plants.
Predominantly, you will work with mechanical machinery such as welders, process pumps, pipework and valves, screw & belt conveyors, pneumatics and hydraulic and drives.
Rotating Roster: 2 days, 2 nights and 4 days off
Day shifts: 6:30am-6:30pm
Night shifts: 6:30pm-6:30am
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a safe behavioural culture and ensure safety compliance for all maintenance tasks.
- Undertake mechanical maintenance activities to best ensure the longterm reliability of mechanical equipment and control systems.
- Assist with daytoday mechanical equipment issues
- Troubleshoot and fault find various mechanical equipment issues onsite to provide short machine downtime.
- Liaising and working closely with planning and stores personnel to ensure that parts and equipment are available when required to avoid delay and improve task execution.
- Working with production and finishing teams to improve communication and interaction between operators and maintenance / engineering personnel.
- Driving continuous improvement in the maintenance department through a commitment to training and development, precision maintenance and a 'closed loop' approach.
- Supporting the Shift Electrician on any electrical work for additional labour support.
About You
- Commitment to Work Health and Safety, and Quality Management
- Trade Qualified with a minimum of 4 years maintenance experience
- Experience using SAP systems
- Forklift licence is an advantage
- Welding experience is desirable
- Strong troubleshooting and strong analytical skills
- SAP or similar CMMS experience desirable
- Cert. III in Engineering Trade Mechanical or equivalent
