North West
Package - Salary up to £55k (dependant on experience), car allowance, bonus, pension, death in service
My client are a Housing Contractor with plans for considerable growth in the next 5 years.

They have an exciting opportunity for a Development Engineer with a strong focus on civil engineering design to join their Design & Technical team.

Development Engineer Role
As a Development Engineer you will be involved with Demolition, Remediation and Enabling works on new developments.

Your role will involve working with the in-house Layout Designers and inform them with the most effective developable area, in terms of constraintand re-grade topography by modelling a proposed ground model.


Duties and responsibilities:
" Checking the design and construction of highways, drainage, services, groundwork's, landscaping, infrastructure, and all associated ancillary works for housing developments throughout the Northwest.
" Liaise with solicitors in the production of section 38/278, 104 Agreements.
" Liaise with all internal departments to ensure the project is delivered on time and within department.
" Provide the Estimating Department at viability stage high level drainage, foundation, and cut & fill drawings to ascertain approximate volumes of arisings/deficit to support a land bid.
" Check the agreed specification and make sure all works are constructed in accordance with the design drawings and completed within budget.
" Liaise with geo environmental consultant to understand existing ground condition, preparation on Remediation Strategy, spoil management and ordain plot validation certificates to be uploaded to the NHBC/LABC portals prior to plot legal completion.
" Support the construction Department in achieving the adoption of the roads and sewers by the local authorities/United Utilities/NAV
Skills & Experience
" AutoCAD, PDS, MicroDrainage and MS office experience
" Ability to demonstrate a successful track record of Road & Sewer designs
" Knowledge of specific design and specification features with regards to road and sewer agreements
" HNC/HND in a building related topic
" Methodical, conscientious, organised and works to deliver high standards.
" Strong communication, listening and presentation skills with the ability to be able to build effective working relationships both internally and externally
" Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
