    Job Title: Forest School Teacher

    Setting: CNPG – Outstanding Nursery Group

    Location: Thurmaston, Leicester

    Contract: Full-Time, Monday–Thursday (7:30am–6:00pm)

Our Forest School provision is a key part of this vision, and we are now seeking a dedicated Forest School Teacher to lead inspiring outdoor learning experiences for our children.

    Role Overview:

    As the Forest School Teacher, you will lead outdoor learning sessions for a different group of up to 16 children each day. You will support children's development through child-led exploration and nature-based experiences, both on-site and in local outdoor environments. You will be responsible for planning sessions, ensuring safety, and promoting a nurturing and adventurous outdoor culture.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging Forest School sessions that support holistic child development.
    • Lead daily outdoor learning sessions for groups of up to 16 children.
    • Take children off-site to local green spaces and woodland areas, ensuring safety and wellbeing at all times.
    • Create an environment where children are encouraged to explore, problem-solve, collaborate, and take appropriate risks.
    • Maintain Forest School tools, equipment, and outdoor learning areas.
    • Complete and update risk assessments for all activities and outings.
    • Work collaboratively with the wider CNPG team to ensure Forest School principles are embedded across the curriculum.
    • Contribute observations and input to children's developmental records and parent communication.
    • Foster children's respect for nature and environmental awareness.

    Requirements:

    • Forest School Level 3 Qualification (or equivalent) — essential.
    • Experience working with children in Early Years.
    • Strong understanding of child-led, play-based, outdoor learning.
    • Confident in leading outdoor sessions in all seasons and weather conditions.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training).
    • Confident with risk assessment and safe practice.

    Hours:

    Monday – Thursday, 7:30am – 6:00pm (set hours, with breaks in accordance with working time regulations).

    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

    Pay: £13.50 per hour
