Therapy Assistant
Leicester
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Rehabilitation Assistant to work as part of the Amputee Rehabilitation team based at the Leicester Specialist Mobility Centre.
You will work as a practitioner supporting the Physiotherapist to ensure high quality patient-focused care to those undergoing prosthetic rehabilitation following amputation,
The post holder will be based at the Leicester Specialist Mobility Centre, however there may be some requirement to visit patients in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- To undertake delegated treatment sessions and clinical tasks through indirect supervision by professionally qualified staff to assist in the delivery of highquality patientfocused care.
- To work as an independent practitioner supporting the role of the Physiotherapist.
- To be responsible for the management of delegated case load of patients maintaining appropriate records.
- To provide administrative support to the registered practitioners to help ensure the efficient and effective running of the department.
- To contribute to providing a professional service, working effectively as an integral team member.
- To provide information and advice to patients, carers and other health and social care professions on areas within the grades scope of practice, e.g. advise patients on exercise treatment programmes based on procedures and set protocols.
- To be involved with data collection/audit to monitor service, general statistic collation and outcome measures the team are using.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience working within as a therapy assistant, or working in a health care setting, patients support or exercise environment is highly desirable.
