Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Supporting to draw up Education, Health and Care plans (EHCPs) and to oversee actions in regards to implementing and maintaining Education, Health and Care Plans and provision
  • Acting as the Named Officer and main point of contact for named settings, schools, colleges and specialist institutions
  • Undertaking coproduction/working together/multi agency meetings with parents/carers, head teachers and other professionals, chairing the meetings as necessary
  • Provide advice and support to parents/carers and Educational Settings about SEND Code of practice procedures
  • Support the wider SEND team, acting in an advisory capacity, along with line managing the locality SEND Plan Writers and Business Support Officers
  • Assist in preparation of SEN tribunals and complaints
At least 60% of day to day work is remote/homeworking

About you


You will be able to demonstrate high level leadership skills in a fast paced and committed SEND Service, utilising your expert technical /professional knowledge and experience.


You will:

  • Be thorough and uptodate on the knowledge of SEN education legislation
  • Have experience working with young people with SEN
  • Have understanding of person centred processes and practice
  • Be well organised and self motivated.
  • Be able to manage and prioritise work within a pressured environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
