Job Introduction


The purpose of the VOD Coordinator role is to support the VOD delivery manager, in ensuring all assets are ordered and delivered on time for BBCS' many VOD affiliates.


The role requires a high level of organisation and attention to detail, and a requirement to understand workflows, business processes and possess a range of technical skills which facilitate the effective delivery of video, audio, metadata and images required for VOD platforms.


Working alongside various BBC departments and the VOD Delivery manager, the VOD Co-ordinator will assist in ensuring that all components are delivered in a timely, cost effective and technically appropriate manner, based on individual affiliates specs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with VOD scheduling staff to secure VOD schedules in timely manner.
  • Ordering and tracking material for VOD delivery.
  • Receiving monthly VOD schedules, and ensuring the correct artwork is ordered.
  • Uploading artwork to the VOD scheduling system.
  • Ensuring all content is ready within the required timeframes for delivery to VOD platforms.
  • Working closely and maintaining working relationships with our playout and VOD delivery vendors.
  • Helping the VOD delivery manager with onboarding new clients.
  • Checking availability of assets for new launches.
  • Helping manage timelines and highlighting of possible bottle necks and issues.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and other teams within the VOD workflow.
  • Advising internal stakeholders on costs incurred in ad hoc projects and raising necessary purchase orders.
  • Knowledge of required localisation per platform, and ordering of necessary assets.
  • To undertake other duties appropriate to the level of this position.
  • Relevant VOD or media asset delivery experience.
  • An understanding of video, audio and subtitle file formats and / or delivery workflows.
  • Experience of using media asset management systems, managing both content and metadata.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Some experience of using Adobe Photoshop.
  • Experience of working in teams and building relationships.
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to show initiative and proactively engage in implementing solutions when appropriate.
  • Experience of planning, organising and prioritising.
  • Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Able to work effectively across several teams and develop productive, trusting working relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and without direct supervision.
