Peripatetic SEN Teaching Assistant Level 2, X 1 vacancy initially based at Hackwood Primary Academy - 35 hours per week

Peripatetic SEN Teaching Assistant Level 2, x1 vacancy initially based at

Cavendish Close Junior Academy hrs per week

EYFS Peripatetic Teaching Assistant Level 2, x 1 vacancy initially based at Village (MUST have EYFS L3 qualification or equivalent hours per week


The Board of Trustees wish to provide opportunities for enthusiastic Teaching Assistants and SEN Teaching Assistants to work in peripatetic posts within the Derby hub.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals to become part of our Hub/ Inclusion hub Service. The post holders will be deployed to academies within the Derby hub on medium or long term placements. Initial deployments to the above academies will be for the 23/24 academic year.

If successful, deployment will be based on specialism and

experience aligned to the needs and context of the academy.

A passion and commitment to working with children with Special Educational Needs

Understanding of the barriers to learning that children with special educational needs may face and be able to use effective strategies to support them

  • Experience of developing learning resources that scaffold and support learning
  • Awareness of child development and knowledge of how children learn
  • Experience of Working with or caring for children of a relevant age to those in the school
  • Communication skills to liaise sensitively and effectively with parents and carers
  • NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience
  • Literacy and Numeracy skills equivalent to Level 1 of the National Qualification & Credit Framework
  • NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience
  • Literacy and Numeracy skills equivalent to Level 1 of the National Qualification & Credit Framework
  • Completion of Department for Education Teacher Assistant Induction Programme (or to complete within first term)
  • Awareness of the requirements of children with special needs
  • Experience of working with learning resources and helping with their preparation to support learning programmes
  • Experience of Working with or caring for children of a relevant age to those in the school
  • Communication skills to liaise sensitively and effectively with parents and carers
  • Basic understanding of a child's development and learning.
