Transport Planner


A Warehouse and Distribution business is seeking a Transport Planner to work within their Transport operation to help them fulfil an increasing level of orders.

Supplying retailers and wholesalers across the UK, from small regional businesses to large blue chip companies covering the whole of the UK.

This role is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Transport Planner looking to make a real impact.


You will be responsible for the transport planning of their in-house fleet of class 1 and 2 vehicles to deliver your products to customers across the UK.


Job Duties as their Transport Planner:
Plan resources to meet work demands and minimum key performance indicators.

Assign and maximise the utilisation of drivers and vehicles daily.

Keep up to date status of the jobs and communicate updates as necessary.

Use the inhouse system to contact drivers with any updates.

Deal / resolve any issues from drivers and customers.

Work alongside a team of transport planner and warehouse team to ensure the customer expectations are exceeded.

To be successful in this role we would like to talk to you:
If you have worked as a transport planner/clerk/ Co-Ordinator

Experience in a fast-paced route planning environment

Day-to-day planning, including multi drops, nightly trucking to ensure fuel efficiency.

Delivered exceptional customer service to external and internal customers.

Knowledge and experience with route planning systems.

Strong Excel knowledge is essential.

Managing own time, planning and performance on a day-to-day basis


Salary:
From £28,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • North Tawton, Devon: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
