Job Purpose:


Working closely with both the Sales & Technical teams to produce compelling bid responses that address the needs of each specific project and articulate a demonstratable value to each individual customer.


This is a pivotal role, responsible for identifying and utilising resources both internally and externally to understand and effectively respond to bid opportunities across multiple industrial segments.


The Bid Coordinator will have direct customer interaction and must therefore be well presented, confident and able to communicate effectively with a variety of both internal and external stakeholders.


Principal Accountabilities:


  • Coordinate compelling responses to large enterprise sales opportunities
  • Enhance the technical response by effectively articulating compelling reasons to choose the business
  • Assist in coordinating and preparing bespoke security system designs utilising company product portfolio to a predefined specification
  • Support the wider team in preparing quotes and proposals
  • Review and comment on tender specifications
  • Keep records of activity in the CRM system
  • Attend selected customer meetings and be proactive in challenging all parties to better understand the customer's operational and strategic objectives
  • Articulate and align the commercial offering to the corporate vision, missions, and goals of the customer
  • Calculate VA/Margin
  • Calculate and communicate realistic turnaround time for proposals
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of costed bills of material
  • Create technical writeups for system proposals
  • Detail caveats and assumptions

Qualifications and experience:


Some technical or industry expertise would be of great benefit, but the primary responsibility will be to work with the technical teams and augment their technical responses with highly targeted selling points that will resonate with that customer.

A proficientlevel of commercial awareness is essential.

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in Bid writing or in a Sales & Marketing position
  • Relevant proposal creation experience for vendors of turnkey solutions, with a software bias
  • Excellent planning, scheduling, written and communication skills
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office products
  • Experience of one or more product categories; Video Surveillance, Command and Control, Integrated Security Management / PSIM platforms preferred
  • IT Networking and / or telecommunications market experience preferred
  • Proven experience of both theoretical and practical aspects of system design inclusive of techniques and tools
  • Documentation governance
