The Company

This rapidly expanding business is a process engineering specialist who design and manufacture turnkey process solutions for clients in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and materials handling industries.

The company have experienced huge growth in capital projects won and have grown from £25 million to £100 million in a four-year period with plans to be a £120 million business by 2024.

Due to this growth and the complexity of their larger scale projects, they are now looking for a Project Planner to help streamline and simplify how upcoming projects are planned.

The Role

The Project Planner role is a brand-new role within the business which will take control for the scheduling of resource required for large projects within the business.

This resource covers engineering and manufacturing internally as well as outsourced resource required to deliver projects.

The role will involve:

Create and implement a system that ensures all schedules are generated with project structures (Work breakdown structures, CBS, Operational breakdown structures) and that these are maintained and updated during projects. This could be operational breakdowns/manufacturing work breakdowns, etc
Identifying risks within the project schedules by developing schedules that include activities, time, and resource estimates to see where schedule is at risk
Ability to perform and analyse Critical Path Analysis
Earned value management
Maintain and update resource schedules to ensure project schedules remain as close to live as possible and takes into consideration any changes from the original forecast

The Person

Experience of planning projects in excess of £2million ideally larger and more complex in nature
Ability to breakdown complex projects into stages and demonstrate each stage of the functional plan
The ability to influence and clearly communicate within a multifunctional team
Capability to work independently
Conflict management
Integrate with the Project Managers to generate their engagement
Must have previous experience working within project planning either within an engineering, construction, or infrastructure environment
Previous experience working with MS Projects is ideal but would consider individuals without that knowledge (Primavera would also be highly beneficial)

The Benefits

Hybrid working 2 days a week from home following the first month
