Metalis are proud to be working with a fantastic and prestigious client in Sheffield, who are leaders and experts in the production of Steel and Engineering. Working with Steel Forgings and castings within a Heavy Engineering environment, they provideglobally for a range of industries from Defence and Marine, Offshore, Power Generation, Civil Nuclear and more.

Salary:

Paying £30,771 DOE

Shifts:

Working 37.5 hours, regular days, Monday to Friday.

07:45am until 16:00pm

Duties:

Read, understand, and adhere to all relevant Risk Assessments and Safe Working Procedures to ensure that all tasks are conducted safely.
Ensure that worksheet instructions/technical drawings are understood and followed.
Receipt of test blanks and confirmation of identification.
Operation of cutoff machine.
Operation of heat treatment furnaces as required.
Manual Lathe and CNC lathe machining of tensile test pieces.
Milling and broaching of Charpy impact test specimens.
Monitoring of test specimen dimensional accuracy.
Maintenance of Identity by paint/stamping/marking.
Occasional van driving for material pickup/drop off
Understanding of metrology and ability to perform basic checks and measurements
Light machining training/experience
Manual and CNC Lathe Operation
Manual and CNC Milling machine operation
Knowledge of H&S
Good understanding of imperial and metric measurements
Extensive light machining training/experience
Ability to follow instructions and confidence to raise issues or concerns
Attention to detail
Band Saw Operation
Forklift Licence
