Description

This post is for 20hours per week
To develop and plan programs, outings and events, staffing the events and overseeing the implementation of activities. Ensure the programme reflects the current population of the services' wishes and preferences

To support and enable residents to access social networks and maintain personal interests in accordance with best practice, agreed standards, legislation and within the financial budget

To maintain skills at a current level, undertake such training and development as required from time-to-time to maintain and progress knowledge

Organise and plan activity programmes reflecting resident's preferences Produce newsletter to inform residents and their relative/friends what's going on Support residents to access internet and communication such as letter writing, Skype and FaceTime

Plan events within allocated budget

Ensure residents are at the heart of events and programmes to enhance their wellbeing

Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support


Specific Requirement for Qualifications
Good English - Written and verbal

RQF Diploma or willingness to obtain qualification

Certification as an Activities Professional by a recognized accrediting

organization, e.g. NAPA

Valid driver's license


Specific Requirement for Skills

Proficient Computer Skills
To research activities and events, to support people to use internet and produce colourful posters and newsletters


Leadership Skills
Activities Coordinators need to encourage people to attend or join an activity and motivate them and keep them engaged throughout the event


Speaking Skills
Activities Coordinators need to be able to speak clearly and passionately to people, answer questions and keep people motivated


Communication Skills
Activities Coordinators need to be able to speak with a variety of different groups, listen to their needs and work with big groups


Problem-Solving Skills
Activities Coordinators need to be able to fix situations quickly or adjust activities for all involved


Specific Requirement for Previous Experience
Previous experience of working in similar environment

Previous experience of working in similar role

Experience of working with people, in particular, those that may have additional

support needs

Knowledge of event planning practices and techniques
