Learning Support Assistant


A special educational needs school located in Winslow, Buckinghamshire is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive team of staff.

The school prides itself on its inclusive and nurturing culture for both pupils and staff. This is a long-term role with a salary of £80 to £100 per day, depending on experience.


Role Requirements:

  • Experience as a Learning Support Assistant in either mainstream or SEN setting
  • Awareness of additional needs such as Autism, and experience using tools such as Makaton and PECS
  • Willingness to undergo training in safeguarding, medication administration, and first aid
  • A caring and resilient personality with a passion for making a difference in children's lives

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with additional needs, including Autism
  • Use skills in tools such as Makaton and PECS to aid in the development of the pupils
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching staff to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for pupils
  • Monitor and report on the progress of pupils in their care
  • Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils at all times
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
