TQR Exeter are looking for a Quality Engineer, based in the surrounding area near Tiverton to assist my client in all aspects of quality activities.

What will you be doing?


Support the Quality Management System (QMS) to meet ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements; identify and implement/maintain specific standards to the QMS.

Represent the quality department at daily Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) meetings and manage allocated actions.
Implement, maintain and monitor temporary and permanent change control.

Manage Non Conformance Report (NCR) processes; assure root cause analysis and effectively implement robust Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPAs) in a timely manner.

Follow-up and verification of CAPAs to assure no recurrence.
Support investigations and appropriate corrective and preventive actions related to external complaints and internal deviations

Implement continuous improvement practices, including appropriate kaizen events on relevant quality processes through enforcement of quality tools and best practice.

Support and manage improvement events and use lean manufacturing principles, as and when required.
Perform internal and external audits per the annual audit schedule. Prepare the report following the audit/s, ensuring, follow-up and verification of completion of actions initiated from the audit/s.

Facilitate the maintenance and creation of process flows, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and control plans as part of a cross functional team.

Author these documents on behalf of the process/technical owner.
Provide manufacturing quality trend charts and analysis to suggest and implement improvements based on the trends. In addition, provide a monthly report on departmental quality performance.
As applicable, author Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), procedures and specifications, and perform SOP validations.

Support other quality functions as necessary to maintain adequate department performance in such areas as receiving deputised tasks and supporting on events and investigations.

React and escalate as appropriate to poor product or waste being produced within manufacturing and stores to reduce the impact and risk to the Customer and company.

Responsible for reporting any non-conforming product or processes through the applicable process or through a supervisor.
Responsible for meeting all safety, quality and quantity requirements
Report all health and safety issues to line manager.
Read, understand and comply with all Risk Assessments (RAs) within the department.
Work to the relevant SOPs at all times.
Ensure 5S is followed and carried out within the work area.

Ensure compliance with all necessary legislation and audit requirements at all times, awareness of all environmental regulations and restrictions within the department.

Adhere to the Health and Safety and Environmental Policies.

What are we looking for?


Essential knowledge:
Experience or qualified in lean tools such as Six Sigma, FMEA and
Green Belt.
Experience or qualifications in internal auditing.
Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment. Ability to use statistical software packages.
