Description
To provide medical, secretarial and administrative service to Consultants to support the Antenatal clinics, including covering duties of the medical secretaries as required.
We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated back up medical secretary to join us within Obs & Gynae Department at Royal Gwent Hospital.
You must be able to work on your initiative use, tact and diplomacy where appropriate and possess excellent communication skills.

Main Responsibilities:
To provide an audio typing service to Consultants and their clinical Team to support the Antenatal clinics, including typing patient clinic letters.
Filing and maintenance of patient case notes and other records including timely maintenance of Trust electronic patient information systems
Answer and action telephone enquiries from General Practitioners, other hospital departments, other hospitals, patients, patients' relatives and others on behalf of the Consultant
Liaise with other personnel (i.e. Medical Records staff, scheduling staff) regarding the arrangement of follow-up appointments, on-going referrals to other departments, and generally assist with the smooth running of the service.
Deputise for the medical secretaries as required
