Assessor Trainer in Education and Childcare (T Level) at our Chichester Campus.

You will join us on a
full-time (
37 hours)
, maternity cover contract basis. In return, we will offer a
competitive salary of £22,156 - £24,213 per annum.

The Assessor Trainer in Education and Childcare Role:

We are recruiting for an
Assessor Trainer in Education and Childcare to join our outstanding and expanding friendly T Level team.

We are looking for an individual with a desire to make a difference in this important sector.


This maternity cover post is fixed term for a maximum of 1 year or the return, resignation or replacement of the current postholder, whichever is sooner.


Key Responsibilities of our Assessor Trainer in Education and Childcare:

  • To support the learners' development of vocational competence and the wider skills that relate to employability
  • To train and/or assess learners within the relevant vocational area to awarding organisation standards in a timely manner
  • To support and/or lead on classroom based activities to extend learners' knowledge and understanding of assessment criteria
  • To agree a training programme of development and assessment, setting realistic but challenging goals that meet the learners' needs. This will be in collboration with the course team and work placement mentor
  • To actively listen, provide feedback and engage learners in planning their individualised training programme through coaching and mentoring; supporting the delivery and achievement of additional qualifications as required
  • To assess learners' competence in relation to workrelated/industry standards
  • To provide workbased practice of the assessment, giving timely and constructive feedback on assessment outcomes and progress, review and set new targets with learners
  • To meet regularly with relevant curriculum and pastoral staff to ensure the learners' progress is updated
  • To contribute to the external moderation process, ensuring awarding body requirements are met
  • To attend regular standardisation/team meetings, as required

Our ideal Assessor Trainer in Education and Childcare should have the below skills and experience:

  • Level 2 in literacy and numeracy
  • Relevant and recent vocational experience in the relevant industry sector
  • Experience of using a range of assessment techniques to prepare learners for timely endpoint assessment
  • Experience of interpreting, developing and delivering training sessions
  • Experience of tracking, monitoring and reporting learners progress
  • Demonstrable experience of a learner and employer centric approach to delivery
  • Working knowledge of the relevant vocational area
