Anglian Water is embarking on an ambitious logistics improvement programme which will deliver a modern, flexible and high quality solution which best serves our business and customers now and in the future.

At the heart of this sits our newly build warehouse in Peterborough.


We are currently looking for a Head of Logistics who will lead and deliver Anglian Water's end to end (E2E) logistic operations on a day to day basis and ensuring the long term strategy is developed and subsequently delivered effectively, efficiently and safely in line with Anglian Water's business plan.


Key Accountabilities:

Provision of a 24/7 logistics service for Anglian Water and its partners across Anglian Water.

Responsible for the logistics budget, stock integrity and its management (write on/off SAP) within Anglian Water.


Responsible for ensuring the logistics operation supports and enables Anglian Water's core Water and Water Recycling operations through availability of all materials, equipment and services.


Responsible for ensuring the impacts to the wider supply chain are managed and mitigated in order to provide the material required for Anglian Water and its partners.


Ensure delivery of a high level of service to increase business growth, and customer satisfaction/overall customer's experience set out and agreed in appropriate operating frameworks with all key stakeholders.

Responsible for building and enabling strong relationships with internal and external customers/stakeholders.


Oversee and ensure the Operator License requirements for the logistics operations aligns and complies with Anglian Water and legal requirements at all times.

What does it take to be Head Of Logistics?

Significant demonstratable experience and track record of overseeing a multi-site logistics operation.

Extensive experience working in a logistics, supply chain or an operational environment in a senior leadership position

Formal management qualification

Commercial acumen

Expert knowledge of performance management principles in Materials, Inventory, Warehousing & Transport Management

Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills

Experience in managing and delivering business transformation in logistics operations

Knowledge of key Microsoft business packages including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and SAP/WMS

Experience of programme and project management delivery.

Experience and working knowledge of Operator Licensing requirements and legalisation.

Strong leadership skills and proven ability to manage, coach, mentor and develop people.

Proven experience of delivering exceptional service to internal and external customers both personally and through a team.

Creates a safe environment which nurtures talent and enables high performance.

Experience of delivering logistics change projects
