Graduate Teaching Assistant - 1 Year Fixed Term Contract
Are you a postgraduate considering a career in teaching and would like the opportunity, prior to joining a Teacher Training Provider, to gain experience within the classrooms at a vibrant two-form entry mainstream school that serves a multicultural community in Canning Town?

Would you like to gain more experience of working with pupils with SEND as a stepping stone to becoming an Educational Psychologist or Speech and Language Therapist?

Would you like to develop yourself over the course of the next academic year as a Graduate Teaching Assistant?

Do you feel you could provide exceptional support for a Primary School as a Graduate Teaching Assistant?

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing particular and skilled support to students as directed by the Inclusion team
  • To encourage the inclusion of students with SEND in a mainstream setting and to support highachieving students so that each individual student fulfils their potential.
  • Understand specific learning needs and styles and provide adaptive support to students individually and within a group in partnership with the teacher.
  • Implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to students' responses as appropriate.
  • Establish positive relationships with students.
