To work within a robust framework of Clinical Governance and own scope of practice in the provision of a high quality, effective, efficient, flexible and client focused service that aims to improve the physical abilities and minimise the disabilities of people with a learning disability.

Clients are young adults to those of elderly years presenting with a range of health and well-being needs that include acute and chronic conditions, complex physical, neurological and profound sensory impairments, specific syndromes, psychiatric and psychological disorders, dual diagnosis and behaviours that challenge.

A sound understanding of the procedures for the Protection of Vulnerable Adults is required.

To be a member of the multi-disciplinary team and Delivery Unit Physiotherapy Service and work collaboratively with social care and other partnership agencies.

To undertake specific highly skilled work delegated by the Physiotherapist. To participate in Delivery Unit / Health Board initiatives to develop and enhance services. To undertake general administrative duties, maintain client records and organise client appointments. To support the Physiotherapist in the clinical education of physiotherapy students and other students on placement in the team.
