As
Electrical Maintenance Technicianyou will be part of the IFM maintenance team, responsible for providing both technical support and assisting the team in performing building services and building fabric maintenance.


As
Electrical Maintenance Technicianyou will be problem solving and diagnosing faults on all site services, including electrical systems (LV switchgear and distribution systems), lighting, UPS systems, LV standby generators, fire detectionand smoke control systems, lightning protection, etc.


Your day-to-day duties will include

  • Assisting with monitoring and testing duties, as required by the Statutory Authorities
  • Liaising and supervision of external contractors, service engineers and suppliers, including subcontractor technical audits.
  • Liaising/communicating with various departments / teams across the company to safely achieve maintenance activities.
  • Carrying out and assist with the preparation of safety risk assessments and method statements.
  • Participating in Health and Safety and Quality Assurance procedures as appropriate to the post.
  • Assisting in the control of spares stock, as well identifying future spare requirements

Experience required

  • A recognised Engineering Apprenticeship and hold a City & Guilds BS7671 Wiring Regulations Qualification or demonstrate equivalent knowledge.
  • Hold a BS2391 Electrical Testing & Inspection qualification.
  • Experience with LV Electrical systems, Electrical cabling to 18th Edition Wiring Regs, and experience with UPS systems, LV standby generators, fire detection and smoke control systems and lightning protection.
  • Ideally have experience of HV systems, Building Management Systems, Air conditioning systems and HSE legislation
  • Well organised and able to prioritise tasks
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
