An exciting opportunity has arisen to come and be part of our brand-new female Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit Woodbank

About us

Woodbank is a 6 bedded female PICU (Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit).

This is a vital role to support the smooth functioning of the ward and you will be part of a team who are driven to provide high quality care to service users.

We work with patients who are in the most acute phase of their illness, the team will work together with our service users to develop the new PICU service with the aim to improve service users experience and outcomes.


Working as a member of the ward team you will be involved in a range of housekeeping duties, working in close liaison with the ward manager, in order to ensure that key tasks are effectively managed.

This is a key role on the ward and we are looking for a motivated individual to become part of our team.

The post holder will assist staff in the delivery of non-clinical care.
The post holder will ensure tidiness, cleanliness, effective stock control and
equipment management.

The post holder will support the Multi-Disciplinary Team in maintaining a safe clinical environment and participate in service audits as required.

The post holder will support the clinical team in maintaining the nutritional needs of the patients

Key Responsibilities of the Post:

You will be engaged in a variety of duties to support the nursing staff. The following lists some of your duties. (This list is not exclusive).


  • Infection control duties in collaboration with nursing staff.
  • Health and Safety.
  • Monitor the ward environment and liaise with the Ward Manager and Estates.
  • Serving Patient meals.
  • Implementing audit actions.
  • Ordering stock and stock rotation.
  • Making beds or assisting patients to make their beds and keep their rooms clean and tidy.
