Responsibilities
As a Highway Inspector you will work as a part of a team undertaking walked and driven safety inspections of the highway network including the determination of maintenance measures required to rectify defects identified.
The Highway Inspection team sits within the Asset Management and Professional Services section of the Highways contract on both West Northamptonshire and North Northamptonshire contract.
Your day to day will include:
- Responsible for undertaking safety inspections on the highway network in accordance with the Highway Safety Inspection manual and the Code of Practice Well Managed Highways Infrastructure.
- Recording of inspection findings through an asset management system and prepare work packs for defect rectification.
- Managing your own programme of walked and driven inspection each month.
What are we looking for?
This role of Highway Inspector is great if you have:
- Standard education to GCSE level or above or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant work experience in the highway maintenance sector.
- Experience in undertaking highway inspections, ideally already holding LANTRA accredited Highways Inspection certificate although training will be given.
