Quality Assurance Planner

About the Role:

This role will involve Implementing and training QA inspection capability across manufacturing operations. Delivering training, monitors, and audits capability to plan.

You will be supporting the QA Planning Supervisor in the development, deployment and use of customer relevant standards, appropriate measurement systems, inspection facilities and capability training to support FTT targets through the production process up to and including Passed to Sales.

You will also be supporting the Quality Assurance Planning Supervisor through the implementation of planned Inspection Operations practices. Ensuring all inspection operatives are trained, audited, and retrained to plan.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Delivering inspection capability training and approving all inspection operatives.
  • Utilising and training the use of appropriate measurement systems.
  • Utilising and training the use of appropriate measurement facilities.
  • Utilising and training out customer relevant standards.
  • Supporting the QA Planning Supervisor in the development of critical and significant characteristics derived from Engineering.
  • Supporting the QA inspection team to ensure daily inspection operations are consistently delivered.
  • Supporting PPS, where required, with data and data analysis to support the delivery of KPI's throughout manufacturing operations.
  • Maintaining, updating, and communicating standards and procedures to ensure continuity of daily inspection.
  • Embracing and leading company behaviours.
  • Fully supporting in the delivery of KPIs.
  • Driving continuous improvement within the business.
  • Conducting defect feedback and problemsolving activities.
  • Resolving daily issues raised by the team.
  • Effectively managing and escalating any quality concerns in a timely manner.
  • Daily delivery and management of Inspection planning to plan.
  • Provides guidance and support across the business for manufacturing product validation.
  • Supports the business in all areas to ensure products are manufactured to required standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement both in the department and other areas.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


  • Automotive manufacturing experience.
  • Previous experience within a quality role.
  • Ability to consistently deliver training.
  • Ability to adapt approach when dealing with process partners.
  • Computer literate, proficient using MS software and able to interpret statistical data.
  • Concise communicator.
  • Basic six sigma (6) trained.

Other requirements:


  • Able and willing to work Hethel or LAS.

  • You may also be required to carry out other reasonable additional duties/responsibilities as required by the business.
