Systems and Planning Engineer - Oldham - £40,000 + Bonus


My food manufacturing client, based in Oldham are looking for a System and Planning Engineer to join them on a full-time permanent basis.

The role will report into the Site Engineering Manager.


The Systems and Planning Engineer is a key member of the site engineering function, with responsibility for the planning and resource management to ensure site performance is safely maintained by the engineering team and contractors.


The role:

  • Is responsible for managing and planning maintenance activities for the week to 12month horizon.
  • Should develop specific plans and objectives to ensure delivery of optimal plant availability to meet the production plan.
  • Should ensure delivery of the plans via daily operation reviews and weekly reviews of the KPI's.
  • Must work closely with the Site Lead Engineering Manager and production planners to ensure objectives are met effectively and economically with minimum loss of output.
  • Should have a safety, environment and quality focus, and drive; shift optimisation, standardisation, and ensure GMP standards are implemented and maintained.
  • Is responsible for ensuring that equipment and systems are maintained to the correct standards for safe operation.
  • Has responsibility to coordinate, manage and maintain the site calibration regime.
  • Has responsibility to maintain a complete register and database of approved site contractors.
  • Has responsibility to maintain and update as required the CMS
  • Has responsibility to ensure engineering stocks are managed effectively via IESA
  • Responsible for managing contractors for site which includes but not limited to; prevetting potential contractor, deliver site induction to ensure contractors adhere to site health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for approving risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
  • Ensure work can be completed with mínimal impact to production with an emphasis to health and safety regulations.
  • Monitoring statutory inspections/calibration are completed in a timely manner.
  • Must lead by example in embracing the two principles; to offer only the finest products and continuously challenge the status quo.
