Do you have a passion for working with young people who require additional support to manage their behaviour? Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? GSL Education is currently seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join a SEN School in Newham.


Role Overview:


As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be working with young people aged 11-16 who require additional support to manage their behaviour.

You will work closely with the SENCO and pastoral team to support students in their personal, social, and emotional development.

This role will involve working one-on-one with students, as well as delivering group interventions to small groups of students.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop positive relationships with students and act as a role model.
  • Use a range of behaviour management strategies to support students in managing their behaviour.
  • Implement personalised behaviour plans and interventions.
  • Provide regular feedback to teaching staff and parents/carers on student progress.
  • Attend relevant meetings and training sessions to develop your own knowledge and skills.

Requirements:


  • Experience working with young people who require additional support to manage their behaviour.
  • Knowledge and experience writing reports.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Able to provide a full career history and 2 referees.
