NaCTSO Programme Delivery Support Officer - Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP)


Salary:
£28,511 to £30,504 plus a Location allowance of £1,721. You will receive £28,511 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £30,504 will be via incremental progression.

West Brompton (with flexibility for some home working).


Protecting the public. Enhancing national security. Safeguarding the UK. As a NaCTSO Programme Delivery Support Officer, you'll be part of a dynamic unit, producing Counter Terrorism (CT) guidance designed to keep the country safe.


This position sits in a specialist team currently within our Programme Delivery Unit (PDU), based at the heart of the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO).

You will be helping to create a range of protective security and CT preparedness guidance, products and policies for CT police, government departments and the Private Sector.

In this fast past paced environment, you will be delivering critical, national projects with the potential to save lives.

Day to day, you will coordinate administration, training and events - arranging meetings, taking minutes and acting as a central point of contact.

In effect, you will be the hub of the Unit's activity, dealing with regional CT policing colleagues, government and industry.

You will also liaise with external partners; obtaining quotes and producing purchase orders for key business services. With the chance to support projects in new areas, there will always be a fresh challenge on the horizon.


Applicant Requirements

Applicants considering this position should possess:

  • Knowledge of the Counter Terrorism Policing network and its structure, also an understanding of the UK CONTEST strategy;
  • Strong organisational and communication skills;
  • A full UK driving licence, flexibility for occasional national travel (will ample notice);
  • The ability to obtain security clearance (see below).
  • Skills in Office 365 apps.

Key Tasks

  • Arrange meetings and take minutes where required;
  • Provide a range of supporting tasks to aid delivery of projects.
  • Deal with telephone enquiries across the unit;
  • Manage record keeping and handling of sensitive material;
  • Acting as meeting secretary for the team;
  • Manage and update contact lists across the unit, maintaining Counter Terrorism Security Advisors (CTSA) contact and distribution lists, monitoring and updating changes (with version control) and circulating to the unit and Senior Management, for efficient and effective communication;
  • Carry out NaCTSO general office responsibilities as required;
  • Manage catering requirements for meetings and courses where required;
  • Support the production of national management information by collating, consolidating and quality assuring regional data into quarterly reports to support Senior Management decisions on performance and delivery;
  • Act as point of contact for NaCTSO with National CT Police Head Quarters' (NCTPHQ) section leads (Finance, Resources and Human Resources), supporting the negotiation of budgets, resources and HR requirements on behalf of the department, ensuring efficient and cost effective funding and staffing of the unit;
  • To act as point of contact for the Programme Delivery Unit
    with National Protective Security Authority (NPSA), to assist new joiners and represent NaCTSO at various meetings as required;
  • Negotiate joint training ventures and venues to maximise cost effective training delivery;
  • Act as point of contact for NaCTSO with external organisations, agreeing NaCTSO requirements, obtaining quotes and producing purchase orders to ensure efficient and cost effective delivery of business services for the department;
  • Support projects in new areas of business, identifying impacts on NaCTSO, negotiating departmental requirements and briefing NaCTSO Units on changes to ensure efficient and effective transition;
  • Supporting the resolution of general enquiries from national Counter Terrorism Security Advisor supervisors, and Counter Terrorism Awareness Advisors (CTAAs), by responding to their enquiries or referring them to the correct point of contact, to ensure efficiency in the unit and in the response;
  • Coordinating the electronic library, by organising the folders and archiving documents, to ensure efficient electronic document storage and retrieval for the unit;
  • Maintaining unit products and stores by monitoring, ordering & collecting to enable unit to function;
  • Supporting other line management requests as required.
