They are well established with over 30 years' experience in their area and they received an OFSTED rating of 'Good' in their last inspection as well as holding the Matrix accreditation since 2009.

This is a great chance to join an independently owned NationalApprenticeship training provider.

They are looking for someone experienced in delivering Functional Skills in English and Maths, who is willing to take a lead role in the delivery of Functional Skills and deliver quality training to their learners.


Purpose of the role of Functional Skills Tutor:

  • Manage a caseload of learners and support with Functional Skills in Maths and English.
  • Be the Functional Skills Lead for the organisation.
  • Oversee and manage the Cognassist platform.
  • Deliver quality training on a 1 to 1 and group basis where required.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions to support positive outcomes.
  • Ensure that learners attend their sessions as planned to ensure timely completions.
  • Support with safeguarding, prevent and Equality and Diversity.
  • Attend meeting and support the wider team where necessary.
Skills, experience and qualifications required for the position of Functional Skills Tutor:

  • Minimum Level 2 Functional Skills in English & Maths required.
  • Hold TAQA Levels 3&4 or an equivalent assessors award.
  • Good ICT skills and experience of BKSB online.
  • Extensive previous experience of delivering Functional Skills qualifications essential.
  • Outstanding communication, planning & organisation, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Be enthusiastic, selfmotivated and approachable, and able to liaise effectively with learners and outside bodies alike.
  • Experience of Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) of qualifications.
  • Experience of Learner Management Systems and Management Information Systems.
  • An understanding of contract implementation, performance review and operational programme responsibility is also desirable.
