Early-Stage Programme Development Lead
Fixed Term until August 2025
London (hybrid)

The Role
The role is focused on leading the day
- to
- day work to support early-stage programme development. This is the development of new packages of interventions and implementation strategies informed by promising areas of evidence (e.g., teaching maths using picturebooks in EYFS and KS1). It combines supporting a range of organisations with a structured process of development, bringing in expertise from partners and ensuring join-up with the rest of the programme pipeline (e.g., pilots, efficacy and effectiveness). Thisis still a relatively new area of work with a dynamic team, high delivery expectations and great opportunities for development.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Identification, support and setup of earlystage programme development projects
  • Provide advice, support and ongoing relationship management to programme developer teams in the design of intervention/implementation packages and feedback cycles
  • Coordinate and support the external advice and support to build programme developer and EEF capacity around intervention design and formative feedback and assessment (including for example acceptability and feasibility)
  • Ensure effective relationships with other teams in the EEF to cohere and align with the overall evidence/programme pipeline and Research Agenda development
  • Support the recruitment and engagement of schools with the feasibility testing
  • Work with the regional team to ensure expectations and work with the Research Schools is complementary to and does not significantly impact on the delivery of the EEF's regional strategy
  • Provide overall reflections and feedback on this approach to early pipeline development activity for future development and iteration.

About You

You must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A commitment to the aims of the EEF
  • An understanding of the education landscape and the school system
  • An ability to articulate the role of evidence in driving improvements in pupil attainment
  • A track record of project management and delivery
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills across diverse audiences school leaders to academic researchers
  • An entrepreneurial, flexible and pragmatic approach, with an ability to balance a commitment to rigour with accessibility and impact
  • An ability to work flexibly and proactively in a small, ambitious organisation
  • An ability to work well with a remote team
  • A willingness to travel regularly within the target regions
  • Experience of contributing to and/or coordinating the development of professional development or implementation plans.
