The Passenger Services Manager role is crucial in ensuring that all Community Transport operations in the Northeast are carried out in a safe, professional and timely manner.

As a Passenger Services Manager you will manage a team of drivers and a fleet of accessible minibuses, ensuring customers receive first class service, which always meets the demanding contractual requirements.


Although primarily based in Newcastle, you will be required to liaise with colleagues from other areas of the Country to ensure that we adopt a standard approach to the delivery of services, the allocation of vehicles and driver resources to contracted, group travel and individual passenger services locally.


As Passenger Services Manager you will be required to take an active role in the recruitment of drivers and volunteers to ensure sufficient driver resources are available to cover contractual and group hire driving commitments.

You will also liaise with drivers and maintenance providers on a daily basis to ensure that the fleet of vehicles is managed in line with the DVSA "Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness" and the internal audit requirements.

You will operate the vehicle scheduling and maintenance software (CTX) to its full potential and ensure total compliance with Section 19 and 22 Minibus Permit regulations.


Essential requirements

  • Good standard of Maths and English
  • CPC in passenger operations
  • Full UK driving licence with min D entitlement. (Maximum 3 points)
  • Experience of Passenger Transport fleet management
  • Experience of managing people in a similar operational environment
  • Competent using IT programmes
  • Ability to lead a team and motivate people to complete tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals and organisations
  • Ability to work on own initiative and resolve complex issues with the minimum of supervision
  • Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer
  • Being prepared to work flexibly (including evenings and weekends) to meet the needs of the business
