Description

Housing Support Officer - Nepali Speaking

Are you ready for an exciting opportunity in the Housing Inclusion Service? Join our dedicated Housing Support Team as a Housing Support Officer and make a real difference in the lives of individuals aged 55+ in our community.

In this role, you will provide personalised floating support to manage accommodation needs, promote independence, sustain tenancies, and prevent homelessness.

We are particularly looking for someone with excellent communication, empathy, and organisational skills to extend our services to the Nepali community and achieve positive housing outcomes.

As a Housing Support Officer, you will collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals from other statutory agencies to expand our reach and overcome language and cultural barriers.

Your role will involve engaging with individuals in need and developing innovative ways to provide the necessary support they require, ensuring they feel secure and empowered in addressing their housing needs.

While previous experience is not required, a firm grasp of social housing legislation, including the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, and the confidence to adapt and learn are essential.

We are committed to your professional growth and will provide comprehensive support and training.

You will have the opportunity to enhance your knowledge and practical skills in supporting individuals through various channels, including in-person, phone, and online platforms.

As a Housing Support Officer, you will manage your own caseload and work towards achieving set targets for homelessness support and prevention.

This entails delivering high-quality housing advice and support through casework with customers and fostering effective working relationships with partners.

To excel in this role, you must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, along with proficiency in IT and negotiation.

A customer-centric approach, adept casework management skills, and a solid understanding of partner agencies' role in delivering health, care, and support to vulnerable adults with housing needs are also crucial.

We are seeking a highly motivated, resilient, and confident individual with strong planning and organisational abilities, who shares our commitment to delivering an excellent service.
