As a valued member of this institution, you will play a crucial role in organising, supporting, and assessing professional practice training placements for students.
Job Summary
As the Work Experience Coordinator, you will work closely with the course delivery team to plan and facilitate the delivery, assessment, and achievement of the Professional Practice unit.
- Salary of £24,222 £25,85
- Permanent role, term time only access a teacher's pension scheme
- Collaborate with the course delivery team to plan and deliver the professional practice unit and related aspects of the course
- Liaise with course leaders and students to identify appropriate work placements
- Act as an ambassador for the college, contacting potential training placements and promoting the needs of our students for professional practice
- Organize and arrange training placements using appropriate documentation, and conduct visits for designated groups of Care, Health, and Early Years students throughout the academic year
- Collaborate with teaching staff, course leaders, and students to plan and coordinate placements, building strong relationships with local providers
- Ensure all professional practice placements meet statutory requirements in collaboration with Health and Safety colleagues
- Attend course team meetings and contribute to learner and program reviews and other quality assurance processes as required
Requirements:
- Relevant vocational qualification at level 3 or higher
- Minimum level 2 in Maths and English
- PTLLS qualification and Assessor/IQA qualification
- Postqualified experience in a relevant vocational setting
- Experience in supervising students in placement
- Some teaching or assessing experience is desirable
- Knowledge of the Cambridgeshire and surrounding area to facilitate local travel
- Strong administrative skills and familiarity with health and safety, data protection, and DBS requirements
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently, manage change, and problemsolve
- Enthusiasm for working with young people and promoting their welfare
