Description

Your role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate technology evangelist to own the workspace technology strategy for Softcat, and to support the customer, colleague, vendor, partner, and leadership team engagement.

Workspace at Softcat is focused on delivering a remarkable user experience through operational excellence. We deliver this by combining technology and services across several connected disciplines.

The core disciplines include collaboration, devices and device management, productivity suites, virtual desktops, ITAM, ITSM, workflow automation, and the related support and services to bring this technology to life.

The role is multifaceted.

You will use your experience, analysts, external connections, and internal collaboration to explore the workspace roadmap, to identify technology, vendor, and services opportunities for Softcat.

As a member of the Softcat Technology Council, and the Chair of the Digital Workspace Vendor Council, you will collaborate with colleagues to assess and measure the suitability of new technology areas and vendor offerings against the agreed decision principles.

Alongside the sales proposition owners, you will be responsible for selecting the blend of technology, services and partnerships to support our propositions.

You will create the narrative to bring this to life for customers and sales, you will define the consultative approach, and you will drive the sales engagement through go-to-market activities and sales campaigns.

In customer engagements, you will support sales and use your skills to explain the benefits of workspace products and services, to help them select the best fit solution.

In addition, you will be responsible for educating the sales and services teams, owning the technology relationship with the vendors, and working with the Practice Manager and wider OCTO to identify further opportunities across all Softcat business lines, including cyber security, networking and connectivity, and hybrid platforms.

As part of the Office of the CTO and Advisory Services, this is an opportunity to collaborate with some of the best minds in the industry.

What you'll be doing for your colleagues:

  • Educating workspace sales and services teams by creating and delivering impactful group training and one-to-one coaching
  • Connecting workspace sales, services, partners, and project management teams during customer engagements
  • Helping to drive workspace sales and services consumption
  • Supporting our vendor alliances and partner management teams with selection, technology sponsorship, joint business plan development, QBR support, and coaching
  • Supporting Service Development throughout the ideation and creation process

What you'll be doing for the OCTO team:

  • Understanding the options that exist now, and identifying the options that are coming next
  • Exploring workspace opportunities across all other Softcat business lines and propositions
  • Creating and driving the workspace technology and services proposition and gotomarket
  • Building out a network of technology peers across the partner and vendor landscape
  • Challenging and championing technology relevance internally and externally
  • Identifying and supporting the selection of new vendors and technologies as part of the vendor and technology councils
  • Representing us as the face of Softcat in the industry

What we need from you:
