Description

Investment Manager

Leeds

£60,000 - £80,000 basic plus bonus & benefits

Our client is an established Wealth Management and Financial Planning Services firm, who are looking to appoint an experienced Investment Manager to develop a newly formed Discretionary Fund Management offering.

The Company:

As a business and through new business generation this year, they are hoping to achieve £400m - £500m Assets Under Management by the end of the year.

They are looking to improve their overall offering with a view of these funds being invested within 1 of7 Discretionary Managed Model Portfolios.

At the present time the MD chairs the investment committee, which has 2 other CISI qualified advisers and an external Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) working on their committee as a consultant.

The CFA brings quarterly data on funds, allocation and plentyof overall macro-economic data to aide in their portfolio and fund selection.

The Role:

They are ideally looking to appoint an experienced Investment Manager to the team, working solely on managing the companies portfolios on a discretionary basis.

The role will include accessing the suitably qualified analysis support from both within the company and externally.

Current returns within their portfolios are generally very good and ahead of benchmarks, with many clients viewing their active investment approach as a USP and somewhat more specialised than most financial planners.

Their ambitions are to build upon thisand improve their proposition by allowing for an improved approach to managing wealth.

By running a more centralised investment proposition, they would expect their advisory team to be able to provide better advice to more clients and grow their AUM even further.

They have ambitions to accumulate £1bn by 2030, with this position being a keypart in the success and growth of the business.

The Person:

This role will suit someone with the desire to switch to somewhere for more autonomy, as you will lead a 4-5 person investment committee, with yourself and the external analyst being the only 2 members that are focused solely on the portfolios.

You would be expected to liaise with others on the committee, delegating research to the companies external analyst where appropriate, meeting with fund managers in person or remotely to aide with selecting funds etc.

In addition, the MD is open to discussing how the duties and responsibilities would fit with your current experience and strengths.
