Position Overview


We are looking for an experienced planner to work within the Integrated Asset Care Framework based at Sellafield, working on the OneAIM joint venture between Mitie & Jacobs.

You will be expected to work seamlessly and collaboratively with the customer managing both on and off-site teams with in the Cumbria area.

Reporting to the Planning Manager you will be responsible for the planning of multiple projects.


Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and guidance to the assistant/junior planner in structuring of the project programmes in Primavera P
  • Support Senior Planner in dissecting Engineering Operating Instructions to develop programmes of work for the project.
  • Assist Project Managers & Project Engineers with plans for tenders.
  • Provide planning input to estimating and tendering activity on assigned projects, so that all relevant issues, actions and risks are understood and accounted.
  • Raise issues or discrepancies with costing to the Senior Planner for attention.
  • Manage the interface between the programme and the operational staff through structured meetings, programme and progress reporting.
  • Support the Risk Manager in highlighting both the dependencies and the interfaces between stakeholders.
  • Identify programme opportunities and propose and capture strategies.
  • Develop base line plan for assigned projects and monitor progress against this plan, so that any problems are recognised and notified promptly.
  • Report on progress and earned value, to support financial forecasting and any necessary corrective action.
  • Experience of working with and delivering programmes under NEC Governance.

What we are looking for

  • Experience in a Project Planning role
  • Experience with Primavera P6 planning software
  • Excel skills
  • Experience with financial or cost management software
  • Attention to detail and good numerical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • A QCF qualification in Planning/ Project Controls an advantage, but not essential
