Description

Do you have experience working within a safeguarding children environment? Working within a multi-agency environment and knowledge of current safeguarding children policy, practice, and research, if so we would love to hear from you.

The City of York Safeguarding Children Partnership (CYSCP) is seeking to appoint a Performance and Governance Officer who will support the work of the Partnership to ensure all children and young people in the city achieve the best outcomes.

The Children Act 2004, as amended by the Children and Social Work Act 2017, and the associated statutory guidance Working Together to Safeguard Children replaced Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCBs) with new local multi-agency safeguarding partnership arrangements (MASA).

These new arrangements placed duties on the three statutory safeguarding partners to make arrangements and to work together with other relevant agencies locally, to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children.

The three statutory safeguarding partners in the city are City of York Council, North Yorkshire Police and the Integrated Care Board.

The statutory function of the CYSCP is to co-ordinate and embed safeguarding practice within organisations and with partners, whilst also ensuring effectiveness of practice across the city.

The CYSCP has an Independent Scrutineer who is responsible for holding partners to account and to provide scrutiny and assurance of the arrangements developed by the three statutory partners.

The Performance and Governance Officer role sits within the Business Unit who supports the work of the Partnership.

This is an influential role in helping to ensure we achieve the very best outcomes for children and young people across the city.

As Performance and Governance Officer, you will have a commitment to shared values and to developing a culture of interagency working and will be a creative individual with the vision and drive to work successfully with the Local Authority, Integrated Care Partnership, Police, Education colleagues and wider organisations.

Within the role you will have opportunity to lead on projects, improve service quality and support a culture that drives up standards and performance.

We are looking for a dynamic, proactive organised individual with an excellent ability to forge strong working relationships, motivating and empowering others and works well in a team.

The Council is highly committed to investing in the talent and wellbeing of our staff and can offer a generous annual leave allowance, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, comprehensive Health & Wellbeing initiatives and a reward package which recognises your contribution.

We can offer flexible working practices, community engagement and volunteer activities and, as part of our commitment to you, promote continuous Learning & Development.

In addition we also offer a growing range of discounts, rewards and savings.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role.

Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process.

Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
