About the role:


Benefact Group, are seeking a highly experienced
Product Owner with significant Insurance Industry experience to join us on a contract basis.


This role will be supporting on a critical technology programme that delivers a replacement solution for a legacy platform for our General Insurance business.

The new ecosystem consists of multiple platforms with delivery teams aligned to each platform. The critical path is the delivery of the Digital Front End platform.


We require an experienced Product Owner to join the team to act in the remit of a 'supplier side' PO with business SMEs on the 'client side'.

The newly formed team is working to a Kanban methodology, whilst refining a backlog to start sprints and move to Scrum.

The Product Owner will be supported by three Agile Business Analysts, an experienced Project Manager and an agile software delivery consultant supporting the Scrum Master.

Key responsibilities:


  • To ensure that we have the right product outcomes to enable a programme vision and objective to be delivered.
  • To ensure product backlog is created, prioritised, and refined to the appropriate level to enable delivery of product features that align with the agreed product and programme outcomes
  • Coordinate, refine and ready product backlog items to an agreed definition of ready to enable development and testing to complete
  • Act as product owner to collaborate with key stakeholders to reach final decisions for the product roadmap, vision and product backlog
  • Work with the scrum team to agree what and when to release features, as well as utilise feedback to enable the right final decision to be reached on the release plan.
  • Serve as product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions
  • Define and deliver improvements in delivery of product to maximise the value from the teams and the product
  • Coach existing Agile Business Analysts in the Delivery Team on Product Ownership

  • Significant Insurance Industry experience
  • Previous experience as a Certified Product Owner including 'supplier side' product ownership and digital front end platforms
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Sharp analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholders
  • Coaching experience Proficiency with the Atlassian Suite of products, Jira, Confluence
