Description
Dean Trust Ardwick is a recent addition to The Dean Trust; a group of high performing schools.

We opened in 2015 and are now a fully-fledged Year 7-11 school, serving over 1200 pupils, in the heart of the Ardwick and Longsight community.

We pride ourselves on being a local school for local children, and since inception we have become the school of choice for families.

We exist to empower our pupils to find their purpose and thrive as citizens of the world.

We provide a knowledge-rich curriculum which exposes pupils to powerful knowledge, places them on an ambitious pathway and develops the character traits needed to seize the opportunities that exist.

Through finding their passions we enable pupils to make a positive difference to the world.

Our core purpose is not merely finite 'success' for our pupils but for them to thrive - continually grow and flourish.

The Ardwick Re-Engagement Centre consists of 3 distinct provisions: an offer for up to 6 pupils from key stage 3; an offer for up to 6 pupils from key stage 4; Internal Suspension, which is the school's highest sanction before external suspension.

The postholder will ensure that pupils who access these provisions receive support that is aligned with the school's universal curriculum offer.

These provisions are designed to create equity, so that pupils are able to re-engage with mainstream provision as soon as is realistically possible.

In addition, the postholder will work closely with the Inclusion Faculty to support the leadership and management of a nurture provision.

This provision is for a small group of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities who need more specialist and intense support before they engage or re-engage with mainstream provision.

The ARC is currently being built. We plan to start educating our first pupils in the ARC from April 2023.

The postholder will play a key role in designing and developing this provision in a way that aligns with our values and vision for 'True Inclusion'.

Application Closing Date: 9am Tuesday 24th** January 2023
