Our client is currently looking for a Finance Director to join their busy team


The Finance Director will work closely with the Group Chief Executive Officer providing insight, support, advice, guidance, and recommendation while successfully managing and implementing change in the business in the spirit of continuous improvement.


Finance Director Duties:


  • To develop credibility and trust with key stakeholders such as shareholders, customers, peers, auditors etc, and to be present in the business, in the factories and operations regularly taking an active interest in our products and operations.
  • Strategic oversight of budget setting, annual business plan process and finance planning, including the capital planning and financial controls for approval are completed on time and to plan.
  • Accountable for the preparation of accurate, high quality monthly management accounts, forecasts and other financial and nonfinancial reports as required by the business and executive teams.
  • Lead a culture of using financial information in a manufacturing operation to drive improved performance and operating margins pushing for continuous improvement,
  • Effective presentation of financial management information, historical and forecast, to directors, senior leadership and wider groups as required.
  • Plan and monitor the cash flow, implement creditor and debtor policies and procedures effectively and oversee the treasury management of all cash balances, short term investments and borrowings.
  • Ensure that all financial and management accounting systems are up to date and support all accounting and reporting needs of the businesses.
  • Liaise with auditors and implement audit requirements and recommendations as agreed, responsible for the timely submission of all statutory accounts.
  • Responsible for ensuring and planning that all tax obligations are discharged correctly and effectively to own the organisation risk register, ensuring it is kept up to date and that appropriate evaluation of risk is undertaken and mitigating actions aretaken, where necessary.

Finance Director Requirements:


EDUCATION AND TRAINING

  • ACA/ACCA/ACMA or equivalent qualification
  • Relevant degree or level of proven experience
  • Completed professional development (CPD, or other) in areas of leadership.
  • Significant postqualification experience and indepth professional knowledge acquired through a minimum of three years in an FD role or equivalent.
  • Experience of managing significant financial resources with a good appreciation of relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience of effectively leading, developing and managing a professional, qualified finance team.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communicator to a wide and varied range of audiences.
  • Positive, upbeat, and outgoing with a passion for the British engineering, manufacturing and/or construction sectors.
  • High levels of determination, tenacity, and personal resilience to bounce back from setbacks and keep going.
  • Able to demonstrate a passion and commitment to leading and developing others.
