Job Introduction

The starting salary for this position is £26,569 per annum based on a 36-hour working week.

Are you looking for an opportunity to further your creative career within a large, diverse and forward-looking organisation?

This is activity that provides important income generation for Surrey, while also enabling school and academy customers access to good quality, value for money services and training.

This role plays an important part in our journey of continuous improvement as we work to further streamline the way that trading services and training, and communications with education customers, is approached across SCC.

The ultimate goal for the team and the council is to facilitate a single communications channel, point of contact and _'one stop shop'_ for the education sector to access information, and to purchase services and training all in one place.

You'll work as the team's in-house Marketing Communications Officer, supporting the team Manager as the go-to person for all the team's marketing, communications and branding activities.

You'll be the type of person who can quickly up-skill and learn their way around the Surrey Education Services Hub (our e-purchasing platform, primary comms channel and virtual shop window for the council's range of support services and training for education).

You'll be responsible for quality assurance and ensuring a consistent and professional look and feel to all content across the Hub, working with the Team Manager and with service providers and partners, using your finely-tuned eye for detail and design to deliver a browsing experience for customers that will show our services and training in the best possible light, and that prioritises clarity and ease of use for customers.

  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to take in information from a range of sources and turn it into accessible copy for a range of audiences.
  • You'll be comfortable with using (either through previous experience or through an ability to quickly learn) a range of content management, digital marketing and design tools such as Mailchimp, Canva, InDesign.
  • Able to use and draw insights from Google Analytics, as well as the Hub's inbuilt usage statistics and communications features, to plan, create and deliver marketing and communications campaigns to promote services and training.
  • You'll either be a keen personal user of the major social media platforms, or have experience of using social platforms for marketing communications.
  • Are creative with the ability to create a wide range of digital content for a multitude of purposes.

If you have the drive and passion to join us on this new and exciting journey and can demonstrate the talents and skills we are seeking, we'd love to hear from you.
